The Milwaukee Brewers made an addition to their roster a few days ago when they traded for Neil Walker, and they are about to get a couple of internal reinforcements back from the disabled list
Chase Anderson was enjoying a nifty breakout campaign when he suffered an oblique injury while batting on June 28th during a start against Cincinnati. Prior to hitting the DL, he had produced a 2.89 ERA/76 FIP /90 DRA across 90.1 innings pitched. A 2 MPH uptick in fastball velocity helped to spur a significant increase in strikeouts http://www.brewersfanaticsjersey.com/martin-maldonado-jersey-c-14.html, and he’s cut down notably on both his walks and home runs allowed. The Brewers recently placed starter Brent Suter on the 10 day DL, so they’ll shuffle their rotation to accommodate an Anderson start on Sunday
Chase pitched 7.2 innings across 2 rehab starts, allowing five earned runs. The Brewers are only carrying 12 pitchers right now after going with 13 for most of the season, so it’ll be interesting to see how they finagle Anderson back on to the active roster.
Vogt joined the Brewers via waiver claim at the end of June after he was DFA’d by Oakland. A left handed batter http://www.brewersfanaticsjersey.com/scooter-gennett-jersey-c-16.html, the 32 year old produced only a .644 OPS in 54 games with the A’s but was off to a hot start with Milwaukee. He batted .250/.313/.679 with 4 home runs in his first 32 plate appearances after joining the Brewers before suffernig a knee injury on July 17th. The former All Star catcher owns a career .726 OPS and has clubbed 53 home runs in 488 big league games, but doesn’t rate very highly on defense. He’ll almost assuredly replace Andrew Susac on the active roster, who has yet to collect a hit in 6 plate appearances since being recalled on August 4th for the other injured backup catcher Keon Broxton Jersey, Jett Bandy.
Also ready for a return to duty is Anthony Swarzak, who hasn’t pitched since August 10th but was never placed on the DL
Milwaukee gave up Ryan Cordell in a http://www.brewersfanaticsjersey.com/chris-carter-jersey-c-15.html trade with the White Sox to bring Swarzak into the mix prior to the July 31st deadline. He’s allowed one run in 6.1 innings with the Brewers and has compiled a 2.14 ERA in 54.2 innings this season.
